Buying Pet Food Online in India: Seller, Pack and Delivery Checks
PetMedMart editorial guide
Confirm the exact item before paying
Check species, life stage, recipe, pack size and complete or complementary status. Read delivery and return terms and save the invoice. If a listing lacks essential label information, ask for it before ordering. Do not assume all sizes or variants use the same formulation.
Choose a pack you can finish sensibly
Compare the feeding quantity with the pack weight and the manufacturer’s instructions after opening. A large discount may not help if the bag will remain open too long. Ask about remaining shelf life when this is important, and leave enough time for delivery without running out of the current food.
Inspect the delivery
Check the seal, batch code, date, importer or manufacturer details and condition of the pack. Photograph damage before opening further. Do not feed from leaking, swollen, contaminated or unexpectedly damaged packaging. Contact the seller and, where necessary, the manufacturer with the batch information.
Keep a traceable storage routine
Retain the original pack and follow the label’s storage directions. Clean storage containers before refilling and avoid mixing batches. Keep a reorder note with the exact product name and size, but recheck the current listing each time because stock, prices and packaging can change.
Frequently asked questions
How can I check whether online pet food is genuine?

Photograph it, keep the invoice and packaging, contact the seller promptly and do not feed from a broken, swollen, leaking or contaminated pack.
